Bell Lamb & Joynson Foundation Backs Next Generation of Female Footballers at Admiral Sports Club

The Bell Lamb & Joynson Foundation has strengthened its support for grassroots sport in Liverpool by sponsoring Admiral Sports Club’s Women’s Under-16s team and funding their brand new kit ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The sponsorship forms part of an ongoing partnership between the Foundation and Admiral Sports Club, which was selected as one of the organisations supported by the Bell Lamb & Joynson Foundation in 2026.

Alongside funding towards the club’s activities and facilities, the Foundation has provided additional support for the Under-16s’ new kit, which the team has now officially unveiled ahead of the new season beginning on 6 September.

More Than Football

Based in Liverpool, Admiral Sports Club is focused on creating opportunities for women and girls to get involved in football while building confidence, developing new skills and overall becoming part of a supportive community.

However, what happens away from the pitch is just as important.

The girls have access to regular wellbeing sessions designed to give them an opportunity to talk and learn more about themselves, developing their confidence. Weekly aerial yoga sessions offer something completely different from their football training, while the club’s fully equipped gym provides another space for players to work on their fitness and development.

Friday socials also give the girls time to simply enjoy being together away from training, with food provided, from hot dogs to Scouse, and plenty of friendly competition around the dartboard and table tennis table.

There is even a dedicated dodgeball area which, according to the club, can sometimes prove difficult to get the girls out of!

Together, these activities have helped create an environment where young players can develop both on and off the pitch.

Building Confidence On The Pitch

The team is coached by former Tranmere Rovers player Jay Harris, who also works individually with players through one-to-one sessions, allowing them to focus on particular areas of their game and build their skills and confidence.

Football at Admiral also gives the players opportunities to meet and play against teams from much further afield. During the off-season, the club arranges friendly matches at its Liverpool facilities, welcoming visiting teams from around the world – including a recent visit from a team from the United States.

The result is a club which offers its young players far more than weekly training and competitive fixtures, providing a place where friendships can develop, confidence can grow and young women can feel part of a community.
