Our expertise includes:

  • Debt recovery and insolvency
  • Property litigation (such as acting for landlords in relation to rent arrears and repossession claims)
  • Financial mis-selling
  • Construction disputes
  • Professional negligence claims
  • General litigation

Criminal Law

We are one of the oldest teams of criminal defence solicitors in North West England, with decades of experience defending people accused of crimes in Warrington and the wider Cheshire area.

Our ruthless and highly experienced team will protect your legal rights and fight your corner at every stage of the criminal justice system.

Our expertise includes defending people accused of:

  • Shoplifting and public order offences
  • Assault, battery, ABH and GBH
  • Robbery
  • Murder and manslaughter
  • Rape and sexual offences
  • Drug offences, from possession to large scale drug conspiracies
  • Serious fraud (we are members of the Serious Fraud Panel and can deal with all complex and high value fraud cases)
  • White collar crime and regulatory offences

We have specialist police station representatives and court advocates within our team, so we can leap into action to help you or someone you know if:

  • You have been arrested or invited to the police station for a voluntary interview under caution.
  • You are on bail and/or are facing criminal investigation.
  • You have an upcoming trial in the Magistrates or Crown Court.

You are entitled to legal advice while at the police station, so our police station representation service is free of charge. This is the same whether you have been arrested or invited for a voluntary interview.

Whatever the circumstances, we can travel at short notice to support you, usually within 45 or less (the only factor that affects our response time is distance). Whether you need advice in or around Warrington and Cheshire, or you are somewhere else in the UK, please get in touch.

We recommend that you do not answer police questions about an alleged offence until we are by your side because anything you say could be used as evidence to charge and prosecute you. This includes if you are going to the police station for a voluntary interview – these meetings are not as ‘casual’ as the police want you to think.

Our goal will be to challenge and dispute any evidence against you so the police, prosecutors, magistrates, judge and/or jury cannot say with any certainty that you committed the alleged offence.

Our help often means the difference between a guilty and not guilty verdict for our clients.

So, ask to call Bell Lamb & Joynson Solicitors straight away – we have a 24 hour FREEPHONE Emergency Criminal Department Help Line – just call 0808 196 1790.

Motoring & Road Traffic Law

If you are facing investigation or prosecution for a driving offence, it is completely normal to feel stressed and upset. Even a minor lapse in judgment can result in serious consequences, from a fine to the loss of your licence to a prison sentence.

Whether you have received a Notice of Intended Prosecution for speeding, or you have been arrested for a serious offence such as driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, having the right lawyer on your side is critical.

Our highly experienced driving offence solicitors in Warrington have over 200 years of experience defending people facing motoring and road traffic offences.

We can offer you practical, no-nonsense advice and will work tirelessly to help you avoid or reduce the consequences of an alleged road traffic law offence.

In most cases, we can offer a fixed price quote for dealing with the matter at court, so get in touch to discuss your situation with a friendly member of our team. Visit our price lists for information about our fixed fees.

Personal Injury

In a perfect world, we would be able to fully trust the people around us to keep us safe. However, sometimes accidents happen because of someone’s negligence. If you have an accident that causes you an injury, and it was wholly or partly someone else’s fault, you may be entitled to claim compensation.

Our friendly Warrington personal injury solicitors regularly help people get the compensation they need to put their life back in order. We can offer you a free initial consultation to discuss what happened and how we can help.

We understand that talking about the accident may be difficult for you, so we aim to provide a safe, comfortable environment in which we can talk openly and confidentially.

We will be completely honest about whether you may be able to make a successful claim. If we decide to take your case forward, our team will take all possible steps to get a positive result for you.

We deal with all types of accidents, including:

  • Road traffic accidents, including whiplash claims, car accidents, pedestrian accidents, motorbike accidents and cycling accidents
  • Slips, trips and falls

  • Medical negligence

Powers of Attorney

A Power of Attorney is a legal document that authorises the people you trust to make decisions about your finances and/or welfare should you become unable to make them yourself in the near or distant future.

Although you hopefully never need your Power of Attorney, illnesses such as dementia, injuries and old age are all common reasons why you may need extra support at some point in the future. Putting in place a Power of Attorney will ensure that your wishes are respected and your welfare is looked after, regardless of what happens.

Our dedicated Power of Attorney solicitors in Warrington can talk you through what kind of Power of Attorney you need and draft your bespoke document on your behalf.

Wills & Probate

Making a Will is essential to ensure that everything you have worked for during your life is passed on to the right people after you pass away.

Our Will solicitors in Warrington specialise in fixed cost Wills to help people put their final affairs in order and reduce Inheritance Tax (which can take up to 40% of your taxable assets if you are not careful).

We can also help bereaved individuals with probate and estate administration matters. Losing a friend or relative is one of the most difficult experiences a person can go through. Our Warrington probate solicitors can provide as much or as little support as you need to get through this time, from providing initial advice about the process to handling the entire process on your behalf.

We know that costs will be an important factor to you, and we are completely upfront about our fees (which can usually be taken from the deceased person’s estate). For more information, visit our price list.

We can also offer a free 30-minute meeting to discuss what needs to be done. You can then decide whether to proceed with probate with our help or whether you may be able to handle the estate administration by yourself.
