Max Hancox
Trainee Solicitor | Accredited Police Station Representative
Max is a Trainee Solicitor in the Criminal Defence Team at Bell Lamb & Joynson and an Accredited Police Station Representative. Since joining the firm in December 2024, he has quickly built a strong reputation for his attention to detail, calm approach and ability to support clients facing serious criminal investigations.
Max is currently completing his training contract and is due to qualify as a Solicitor in March 2027, specialising in criminal defence.
He graduated with an LLB from the University of Liverpool in 2021 before completing the LPC and achieving a Master’s in Law (LLM) in 2023, giving him a strong academic foundation alongside hands-on criminal defence experience.
Experience
Max joined Bell Lamb & Joynson as a Paralegal in 2024 before progressing within the Crime Team and securing a training contract. He is now actively involved in police station representation, case preparation and criminal litigation across a wide range of matters.
As an Accredited Police Station Representative, Max regularly advises clients during police interviews and supports solicitors with both Magistrates’ and Crown Court cases.
Prior to joining BLJ, he gained experience in legal roles including financial fraud work and civil litigation support, further strengthening his investigative and analytical skillset.

Max has represented clients at the police station in serious cases including manslaughter, robbery and other high-risk violent offences.
He is also currently involved in litigation on a high-profile murder case, working as part of the wider defence team.
