Alex Dunn is a Criminal Defence Solicitor at Bell Lamb & Joynson, supporting clients across a wide range of criminal matters. Known for his methodical approach and strong attention to detail, Alex works closely with clients during what can often be challenging and stressful circumstances.
Alex joined Bell Lamb & Joynson in January 2026 following the merger with Rose & Dunn Solicitors, where he trained and later qualified as a solicitor.
Alex originally studied Computer Science at Liverpool Hope University, graduating in 2018. After discovering a passion for law, he changed career direction and undertook the LLM in Qualifying Law at Liverpool John Moores University, graduating in 2019. He then completed the Legal Practice Course (LPC) at the same university.
Alex began his training contract with Rose & Dunn Solicitors in October 2020, focusing primarily on criminal defence work. After completing his training contract in October 2022, he qualified as a solicitor and continued practising within their criminal law team.
During his studies, Alex also worked part-time with Rose & Dunn, assisting with case preparation and observing proceedings, allowing him to build practical legal experience alongside his academic studies.

Notable Work
Alex has assisted in a number of complex criminal cases during his career, including involvement in the litigation of what has been described as the longest-running drug supply case in English legal history.
In this matter, Rose & Dunn represented two defendants across multiple associated trials. Alex worked closely with David Rose on the case preparation and attended Manchester Crown Court on several occasions to assist counsel throughout the proceedings.

Outside of Work
Outside of work, Alex is a lifelong Everton supporter and has been a season ticket holder for over 20 years. He also plays football weekly with a local Liverpool team that competes in a national league.
