Phil Palin
Accounts Assistant
Phil is an Accounts Assistant at Bell Lamb & Joynson Solicitors, supporting the firm’s legal finance function and helping ensure financial processes are handled accurately and efficiently. He plays an important role within the Accounts team, contributing to the smooth running of financial operations across all areas of the firm.
His career has been built around supportive roles, with a strong focus on helping colleagues and maintaining high standards of accuracy in regulated environments.
Education and Qualifications
Phil studied at the University of Chester, where he gained a degree in Business Management and IT. He also studied at Warrington and Vale Royal College, completing his AAT Level 2 qualification.
Professional Experience and Background
Phil has spent his entire working life in supportive roles. He previously worked for The Royal Bank of Scotland for ten years in customer support, where he developed a strong understanding of financial processes and customer interaction.
He then worked at FDR Law LLP for six years as an Accounts Assistant, gaining valuable experience within legal accounts. After a short period working in accounts for executive travel company Incentivise, Phil returned to legal finance and joined Bell Lamb & Joynson Solicitors.
This varied background has given him a solid foundation in finance, accuracy and professional support.
Areas of Work
Although the Accounts team does not manage individual cases, Phil works on the financial aspects of all matter types across the firm. His role supports the wider legal teams by ensuring financial information is processed correctly and in line with regulatory requirements.
Approach and Client Care
Phil is motivated by helping others and takes pride in supporting both colleagues and clients when needed. He focuses on being clear and precise, particularly when dealing with financial queries or card payments over the phone.
He is a strong team player who remains focused under pressure and contributes to a smooth and efficient working environment.
Outside of Work
Outside of work, Phil enjoys spending quality time with his family. He has a strong passion for music and plays the guitar, performing live as part of Warrington based rock band On The Edge.
Phil is also known for his love of tea and has received firm awards for always having a cup of tea to hand, as well as for receiving the highest number of Kudos at the BLJ Summer Party. He enjoys travelling, trying new restaurants and settling down with a good book when time allows.
