One of the Oldest Liverpool Solicitors
Bell Lamb & Joynson are one of the oldest firms of Liverpool Solicitors. In 1821 Thomas Toulmin of 56 Park Lane, later of Rodney Street gave his name to two solicitors firms in Liverpool.
Neither firm chose to have his name perpetuated. The first was Brabner Holden & Co. and the second was Bell & Joynson. Both of these firms remain in practice to this day. Thomas Toulmin, a prominent Liverpool Solicitor of his time, was also a lesser founder of the Liverpool Law Society.
In 1988 Bell & Joynson amalgamated with Lamb, Goldsmith and Howard, another prominent Liverpool Solicitors firm with a long-standing reputation. That merger resulted in the firm becoming known as Bell, Lamb & Joynson.
There have been other mergers and acquisitions over the years none of which have impacted upon the firm’s name. Over the years the firm has expanded successfully from Liverpool into North Cheshire with a longstanding office in Runcorn. In the last 10 years, offices have been opened in Warrington and Maghull. In addition, the firm has trained and nurtured some of Liverpool’s brightest legal talents who have either gone on to become partners within the firm or have set up their own legal practices.
